I'll stand up to be slated here, but I do not see what he offers that a younger prospect from the NL doesn't. Limited skill level, reasonable tackler, running at times is awful. His main distinction has been an upped effort rate over recent times, arguably coincidental with contract renewal. I can live with the argument of him being value - if he's cheaper than the equivalent replacement from NL, fair enough, but I don't see the need for a two year contract. I'm pretty sure his effort was not as high when he last had the luxury of a longer contract, and I can't see that we'd be in the position of having to be beat other clubs off with a stick to resign him this time next year if we went for the one year option.
I agree, he's too small to have any impact in the forwards and too slow to play in the backs. Two years is ridiculous.
Fantastic news about George, hope he stays injury free and shows everyone his true worth, As for Hendo, he's a grafter and all teams need his kind. May never be a star but will never stop working for the team.
absolutely spot on john kear and some fans can see what he offers us but some cant, he will graft all day and no he will never be a superstar but you can gaurantee he will give u 100 percent commitment to the team every week
