"I know guys that pay £25 for a facial up north"
"If that season review DVD was an A-level entry, it'd fail"

Maybe 'respect' was the wrong word to use. It just angered me, that after a week when a lot of goodwill has been given to our club and supporters, we have a few mindless idiots who try to ruin things.

It's a shame that those few didn't read the excellent post by Barry Clegg on the VT - http://forums.rlfans.com/viewtopic.php?t=401078 - nothing to do with how a player acts off the field, respect purely for their efforts on the field.

If anything, it was counter-productive, wasn't it?

Thankfully, I'm sure most will see them just as the idiots they are, and that the true Wakefield supporters wouldn't stoop to that level.

You always get a small minority of fans who will cause problems, or say inappropriate things no matter which club they support, or what has happened recently.

But lets not let that distract from the fact the vast majority of fans from both clubs last night showed how wonderful our game is and came together to try to help Wakefield and Leon Walkers family through this difficult time.

Exactly, why we have to focus on this i don't know, the fact is that fans will come on here and make comment have very little idea of "how its been" and how wakey fans have been affected by the past 6 months (yes its affected many fans in different ways and if you have not been involved in the tragic events at first hand then you should really try to understand those that have) yes some were out of order last night but 99% have been a credit to the game.

If fans come on here and try to score points we will take as disrespect and deal with it how we see fit. no problem with any debate god or bad but lets not bogged down please.

Sorry but I've always said respect has to be earned - and being done for assault, not once but twice is not anything that gains my respect.

Do you know what a charge of assault means? It can mean anything from a shove to a punch across the face. People talk like he has murdered someone when all he may have done is give the other bloke a push. The other charge was dropped due to the prosecution bringing no evidence. So maybe people should think first before condemning him? I thought he handled his post match interview very well indeed, redirecting the line of questioning from himself to the real issue of the night.

I also heard the chanting on the TV. No respect to the Wakey fans for that. It was inappropriate, given what had happened this week.

But otherwise I thought the game was a tough one to watch and no doubt for both teams a tough one to play. John Kear was evidently just relieved the whole thing was over - he confessed as much - and everyone watching knows very well that the Wakey we saw last night was not the usual Wakey. It must have been hard for the Saints players to know how to pitch things but I'm sure they all realise too that on another day at another time it's likely they would have been kicked to death in the manner of that opener by Brough (I think it was), which was a genius of a kick.

Hopefully fans of no other club ever have to go through the tragic events Wakefield fans are having to deal with. In all this talk of respect its you lot who really do deserve it, the way you have coped with everything that has been thrown at you in the past few months as a fanbase has been fantastic and very dignified.

Hopefully this is now the lowest point you have to deal with and things start to pick up for you both on and off the field, I think recent events see most fans regardless of their team wanting to see you succeed - you deserve some good luck for a change.

I would hope not.

A bit of good luck would go along way and would be very welcome, we all appreciate the support form other teams fans that we have recieved over the last 6 months.

Many thanks.

I agree it was sad to see some of the fans walking out before the end of the game, it was not something I really wanted to see. I understand trying to get out of BV is hard but if they had of stuck around for awhile after the roads would probably of been clear. oh well.

The lads looked physically tired from this weeks events (not from the actual game) and the fact they came out and still tried their hardest is full credit to them, the interview with JD was hard to watch you could see the pain in his eyes

Well done lads :D

Can't give up a 15 mins of their time to support the players through this. stuff em, if the score had been 20-20 would they have had to go early to miss the traffic?

Now i'll get told "you pay the money you do as you like" but i'm not wrong am i?.

Everyone paid great respect to Leon Walker and his family with an impeccable minutes silence. I don't personally think it shows any disrespect to Leon Walker, the Walker family or the Wakefield club if some supporters got on Pryces back last night.

He is fair game for other supporters at the minute through his own doing and maybe some people were having a go at him to let off steam on an otherwise tense and emotional evening.
