If only we could go back to the good old days when the first most people knew about the team line-up was when it was announced over the tannoy before the game!

I've got a stack of old match programmes at home from when my dad used to take me as a kid, with the names of players crossed out and their replacements inked in by the side..... and sometimes double crossings out when the team line-up changed between the announcement before the warm-up and the announcement before the kick-off. And strangely enough, my enjoyment of the game was not diminished in any way because of it (even if the programmes are now worthless )
