What would a Cockney know about rugby league?

Excellent post and spot on. Sadly.

I think the only hope is the 88m group are secretly in cahoots with the trust, council and club and are buying the site to refurb the place and charge the money back through long term rental and the fact that a stadium development would be a nice addition to their portfolio. This though is as likely as Santa Claus turning out to be real and be living in a one up one down in Agbrigg.

So much hope tempered with the baseball bat to the face of reality :(

Even if that is the case sadly the possible increase wouldn't be in any way close to justify a CPO. They are seldom used and tend to be things that will benefit many hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people like new road or rail systems, not a little rugby club which most of the city couldn't give a flying hoot about. And with my council tax paying hat on the council shouldn't be spending anything on us or any other club in the district at this time when other services are being cut to the bone.

What about the near 10,000 children that benefit from the work done in the community by the club. Given the obesity report out today I might suggest they're very relevant

Which i'm sure will carry on wherever we are playing next year. It really is a bit of an irrelevent discussion though, with purchase costs and both sides fee's it would cost the council thick end of a million quid just to buy it. As much as its a nice thought that ain't gonna happen!

There would be a huge hole left locally if the club's community scheme was lost.

We really are clutching at straws here and I believe that we will be left with only one option......a couple of years in a temporary home (Dewsbury?) followed by a groundshare with/tenants of Cas at GH.

We will have two options....either make it work or go the way of other clubs in the past who have disappeared.

Other than the obvious emotional reasons not to, it would make economic sense to share with Cas. The stadium would be used double the number of times per year and become a more attractive proposition for any outsourcing of facilities etc.

It seems that a lot of people on this forum have already ruled out this option and have already formed a view as to what will happen.....leading to the ultimate demise of WTW. The other option to me seems worse as to think we will get a nice new stadium (either BV or replacement) is pie in the sky thinking. It will not happen!

I'm not saying that Cas will suffer the myriad of problems that we have but, there isn't any concrete in the ground over there yet and there is a hic up already with their development, with some archaeological find on the new site ??, which will certainly cause some delays.
Also, as Sandal mentioned earlier, IF we start to play any games over there, which would cause many, many fans to cease watching plus, it would bput an absolute stop to anything EVER being built in Wakefield.

I've ruled out a move to Cas'. We will be second class citizens there. They wouldn't want us there and who wants to travel all that way to a 'home' game?
No for me -I'm out and I think a few hundred more will be.
Just one other thing - if it happens, I wander how long before 'merger' raises its head again?

It would be the ultimate humiliation I would take a guess that at the very least half our fans wouldn't go anywhere near a groundshare subordinate tennantship at Cas. I would rather go to Dewsbury and prepare a sustainable Championship future. Either option I fear SL would not be sustainable.

Sorry I don't get all the championship talk. Why would playing at dewsbury automatically result in champs rugby.
