Do you know our retained list or is your mate the new coach still negotiating.

I am sorry but you cannot say Croft is the answer based on a few end of season games however if your assumption of forwards then he will have to be. The glaringly obvious problem is yes we have what appears strength in the backs but sadly five of them are wingers (sort of in the case of Lineham). We appear to consider Gaskell for cover along the entire back line, full back and stand off despite his problems with injuries. If we take Gaskell out we have two halves, one full back and three recognised centres, not a lot of strength in depth.
I guess we are going for a small relatively inexperienced but jack of all trades squad and hoping for no big injury list in the backs.

You could always cancel your Trinity TV subscriptions if your not happy with the situation.

Would give hardaker a 1 year deal no problem - I guess the sticking point is he wants to be the number 1, with Max there and Shaul (maybe), that might be an issue. He's better than Max even if he is 'own of our own', and some wouldn't like to say it

Was better, but another season? Probably, but it's an ever diminishing return.

It's a lot of cash to tie up in a position we have covered should we sign Shaul.

I could but sadly the same cannot be applied to you Bob if only life was so simple.

To Vastman the post was to show that if the club believe we need to only strengthen in the forwards as you indicated and how risky that was based on our current squad.

Give it a rest it wouldn’t matter who they brought in you’d moan. You’re not interested in debate or you wouldn’t start with the sill your mate comment, you’re just a more petulant Kevin the teenager.

I’d have thought Hardaker would play right centre. He’s equally good there or full back and I’m sure can cover wing too.

I’d only bother signing 1 of Shaul or Hardaker. Hardaker covers more positions and is the better player so if the money fits in then there’s no contest.

Anyway I’m not bothered if we don’t sign Shaul. Played well for us overall, good defence but limited attack and under high ball. I’m happy for Jowitt to continue his development soon to hit his best years too.

I’d rather we get a player with more utility in to cover the back line.

Someone mentioned Norman but I’d rather see Hampshire back or Abrahams given a chance to continue his development.

Appelgarth ultimately decides and even if we do sign some like Shaul etc I will 100% be behind them. Sometime players just find form at new clubs.

That’s the problem it does matter who they bring in because regardless of what you hope we still need to avoid relegation in probably the most competitive season. We have released several experienced players and so far have brought in one who let’s face it does not come with a game breaking pedigree. It cannot be avoided that currently we are gambling on the current squad staying fit and finding talented players in the World Cup not already signed to a club and willing to come over.
I expect the club are prepared for this situation with other players identified but who knows. I like the thought that the coach wanted to sign a top NRL player do you think he will be allowed to or would the final decision fall to the board who would say no. He can suggest who he likes but he will get only those players the club are willing to stump up the funds. They may not make any specific suggestions but they will stop any they believe to be too expensive.

And so they should. Why would they let a coach sign a player we can't afford?

Chisset, either use the 'username' or don't use a name.
You know the rules and that is a serious one.
