Not for me to defend YC, but it's 130 jobs on top of the 50+ jobs hopefully saved at Trinity by keeping us in SL. I'd say it's a fairly reasonable return for the size of the plot at NM, though it depends on how good those 130 jobs are.

The article states thousands of future jobs but that does sound a bit optimistic.

Whatever it's done now and NM is not our problem.

At the planning application they referenced 1500 jobs

That was the original application and on the latest one for the changes. Talk about frugal with the truth!

But that's not what the article states. I can't vouch as to how truthful the statement is but this is what it says.

'Wakefield Hub is a 200-acre scheme being delivered by Newmarket Lane Ltd; a joint venture partnership between HBD and Yorkcourt. One of the largest regeneration projects of its kind in the North of England, it is set to drive inward investment and create thousands of new jobs'.

Suppose they could've been referring to the jobs involved in the construction of the same.

Anyhow the main point of the post was to show that the forward funding could well be the money that has been deposited in the account for the new stand.
