Out of interest what was the offer? Having a home, albeit in the championship, is a far greater outcome than a nomadic existence or no club at all.

This. If that offer was put on the table i'd be all over it, how we pay for any improvements can come later. At least the club would still be there even if in the lower league.

I've always thought that because of where it is Newmarket would lose as many fans as it gained anyway and would become a white elephant due to our small supporter base. To play outside the city would be even worse. But the build it and they will come tactic is flawed, look at Salford and Huddersfield as examples. Without a major sugar daddy which would solve all problems anyway i feel we are destined for the championship whatever the state of our stadium, providing we still actually have a club. In 2 or 3 years time it will be two leagues of 10 with 1 up 1 down and we will be in the 2nd tier and Belle Vue will be fine for that. Then in the future who knows, but we will at least have an asset.

I find this quite depressing and it's little wonder that our fans are disappearing like the proverbial rat's up drain pipes.

I'd rather that we fight to stay in SL and fight some more to secure somewhere to play.
The only thing that Trinity have done over the past 25 years while I've watched them, is try to prove the doubters wrong and at times, we've done this in spades.

Sorry, but I'm not for rolling over to battle it out in the Championship (or worse), let's collectively roll our sleeves up and support the club and the trust and do all that we
can to gain what was promised.

It was never going to be easy and it wont be easy for the foreseeable future but, let's not have "ambition" to be relegated and have to try and re gain promotion.

The first time either ourselves or Cas go down, that may well be it for top flight rugby, ever and I'd rather scrap now and try to keep what we have fought over for all our SL existence.

Thanks for this.

At first I thought I was on my own for wanting to fight and stay in Super League in a quality stadium and get what we the people of Wakefield were promised.

If fans want to roll over and accept a life in the Championship then thats fine and I can go and do something else with my time. As I have said we do not want to have to go to court but if thats what it takes then so be it.

I repeat what I said earlier, "I'd rather die like a Lion that live like a Lamb". If you want to live like a lamb then I'm not the man to be involved with all this and anyone is welcome to take my place.

Yorkcourt made an offer which was unaccepable to the Trust

This is the first I've read or heard of a counter offer.
What was/is the offer? Does it involve any community facilities other than a stadium?

It's not for me to divulge confidential information on here but the offer was unacceptable and did not involve community facilities.

As you seem to be alluding to the issue is not just about Wakefield Trinity it's about a Community Stadium and all the other facilities that were promised for the people of the Wakefield district.

Won't the RFL want to help fund an iconic stadium like BV, just a thought :)

She had every right to object and she was given ample opportunity. The WMDC/Secretary of State having considered hers and other objections decided to the planning application in the public enquiry on the basis of the benefits that the S106 agreement would provide.

On that basis the Newmarket residents would be imposed with a development approx 80%? industrial units and 20%? Community facilities - hard to swallow for them, but that is what was approved.

How hard must it now be for them to swallow the fact that it will probably end up as 100% Industrial units and 0% Community facilities?

Not sure how they may feel about that, but perhaps they are laughing their socks off at the rugby fans misfortune.

They were duped, as were we Wakefield fans and Wakefield constituents as this was all a cleverly devised plan to do exactly what has happened.

I take your point, looking at it that way its hard to argue against.
Every one seems to have lost out but Yorkcourt.
