the other sporting events in Manchester are the Greater Manchester games held in the city centre on Saturday, this shouldn't have much effect on fans coming from Yorkshire, Sunday it's the Manchester 10K this has around 40,000 runners so Manchester will be busy and parking in the City centre will be be in short supply.
Quote Fergus="Fergus"after last years debacle I made a decision a few weeks ago that I would attend the Saturday and attempt to just enjoy neutral rugby and some beer. the lovely forecast suggests that this will be highly likely as their is the hull derby and the wigan leeds games to enjoy. it may yet be possible that I return on the sunday especially considering the upturn in our teams ability to compete. however, I do believe there are other sporting events taking place in Manchester that may result in awkward and silly road closures and diversions - does anybody have any further info on this matter that they are able to share with both myself and maybe others that are contemplating driving on the sunday morning (I am taking the train on Saturday)'"
Hope this might help if you are driving

You can reach both car parks by leaving the M62/M60 at Jcn 18 then via the M60 to Jcn 23 then follow the A635 towards Manchester then turn right onto the A6140 (lord Sheldon Way) the Ashton Moss is on the left and the carpark is just past the tram stop. Ashton West is further along the same Rd and shares the car park with a cinema and various food outlets like Nando's, KFC a pub and others.
