Once everything's out in the open it will hopefully unite us all and continue the fight together for a stadium in our City. I don't think Dewsbury will be a problem it will be a good atmosphere in that side terrace stand you never know we might be able to spend more on the squad. Trin fans I talk to are up for Dewsbury but obviously still getting back to Wakefield in a new fit for purpose stadium still being our and the trusts aim.

Totally agree but we havn't a football club to build and fund a stadium. The only way we will ever get one is if there is some massive new greenbelt development with a RELIABLE developer and some 106 money is generated in that way. Can't see that happening for a while especially whilst the top people at the council are around.

However I do predict you will now see a real sustained effort and commitment from WMDC to help drive forward a new stadium at Cas. If we are at Dewsbury when its completed we will be offered a return to 'wakefield district' to play there. If we refuse, it will be 'up yours, you've turned us down, don't ask anything of us again'.

Hi Wakefield Supporters
I'm sorry but I feel the need to comment, knock me down if you wish but I comment in all honesty and concern for Wakefield trinity.
Everyone is 'blaming' somebody else and quite frankly some of the comments are very nasty. This site is a RL forum for all rugby supporters and young supporters of all clubs read this, Rugby league is a so called family game!! How would you feel if your son/daughter or wife was reading these vile and abusive remarks aimed at individuals.
Moderators need to take control.
As for the actual ground situation this will play out as it does and it seems that those running the club are the best group for a long long time but even they are being targeted.
We all want a club in wakefield so for what it is worth, forget about the past and who has done what, even don't be bitter towards Cas as that will not change a thing either.
COME ON move forward together you lot and get behind the club and leave the nastiness for a different venue.

Despite the strong link between Box and Cas RLFC I still don't think there is any direct bitterness towards your Rugby Club.

Re: Ground : Wed Aug 17, 2016 11:59 am
Newmarket AND Glasshoughton was never going to happen. It just doesn't make sense to have two new stadiums that close to each other.

The problem is that many people just do not understand the resistance to a ground share. It works in other countries; it works with other sports. To be honest I can understand that view as two stadiums do not make economic sense. You can slag off Box & WMDC, but think of it logically...why would they support two stadiums? If Yorkcourt had played ball and NM was built - or being built - I suspect that Cas would be in the same position we are and GH would be a no no.

Looking ahead, I expect a spell at Dewsbury followed by a ground share at GH. We can either accept & engage with that - and hopefully get some red/blue seats at GH - or give up. I'm not for giving up and will support Wakey regardless of where we are playing.

Apologies Wakefield Supporters.
In no way did I want to say that there was bitterness towards Cas. My point was just to try and help focus on Wakefield Trinity moving forward and yes of course remind people that fans of all ages and all clubs read these forums, mostly out of interest in the game and friendly banter being part of it.
