At a time when we're financially sound for the first time in god knows how long (thank you MC), things on the field seem to be progressing, particularly with young talent coming through (well done the club, which of course includes MC) the ground situation has rained on the parade a little. I couldn't care less where the games are played as long as Trinity survive, I for one will have my ST when they go on sale and if ever there's a time the club needs us its now!

MC are you able to confirm whether the press report is accurate and the ground has now been sold to the same people that purchased the superbowl site?

That is my understanding of the situation.

That's extremely sad then - not just because we are going to witness our last games at BV but I felt a revamp of BV was our only hope of having a ground of our own. :(

If you read my post I actually did not say it was just during your tenure but over many years that the ground as been allowed to deteriorate.
I agree it was wrong what Ted did but he did it without our knowledge.
I note that you refer to the private developer rather than the council for breaking their promises.

I actually feel you have a very difficult period ahead because the great club that is Wakefield Trinity and it's future is down to the decisions you make over the next few weeks. I hope you make the correct ones because I wouldn't want to be the man that presided over the demise of our club after over

I would also point out that whoever provided you with my name it is John I am not French. We may see each other on the golf courses of the Algarve which I visit quite often, and with you requesting that I no longer attend games I will have more weekends free.

I would suggest you try to play Victoria or the Old Course rather than Pinal, you will find them much more challenging however the best in that area are the three Quinta courses.

Your proper weird!! You pull people apart with the pretext of 'I want my club to survive ' yet all you really seem bothered about is casting aspersions on MC's character and commitment to keeping the club alive. Why do you bother? ?

I agree, lets be right they're idiots but thankfully they're just a very small percentage of Trinity fans. I just hope that those faceless nameless few won't put off MC from doing his job because the vast majority know what a excellent job he's done & I hope he knows that.

I would imagine most supporters when MC walks around the ground on match days will tell him what a good job he is doing... People with different agendas post ramblings on here not knowing or wanting to face upto the facts of the situation. Look at the Bradford situation, I would rather be where we are than in the championship shield! Deary me..

Re: Ground : Wed Aug 17, 2016 8:39 am
I have been watching Wakefield since 1978-9 and we have had a succession of owners that have been amateurish, possibly less than honest and cumulatively run the club into the ground.

The current chairman started with the worst situation that any previous chairman has been presented with, on the field we have actually made good progress and there has been a noticeable increase in the levels of professionalism. The loss of the ground is a total disaster but fail to see how Michael Carter can be blamed for that.

The kind of money required to buy the ground redevelop it is beyond the realms of most - when you look at whats happened at most other clubs that have resulted in a new ground its been with the whole hearted moral and financial support of the local authority and or a multi millionaire backer with almost limitless pockets.

Well we don't have any of the above and sadly the days of professional sport being played in wakefield look distinctly numbered. But I for one sympathise with MC I certainly don't blame him.

Thanks for answering. I had heard that since the lease was signed last year that the councils Mr Health & Safety had decided to be even more arsey over one or two things. Is it this thats made the public liability just too much now or is it the RFL insistence that we sort the place out the primary thinking behind moving on a year into the lease? Or a mixture of both and/or other things? Just curious to know what has changed in the last 12 months and who is putting the squeeze on?

Call me a cynic but, is there any possibility that we are being set up to be the "fall guy" if certain club(s) end up in a relegation spot.
I know that we were being given dispensation by the RFL to play at a "below SL standard" ground and that this was said to only be a short term thing but, will Huddersfield's superior ground save them once again ?
In saying this, it's difficult not to acknowledge that BV is clearly the bottom of the pile, followed by The Jungle
(incidentally, there are some issues with their own new stadium as there is supposed to be some kind of archaeological "find" on their proposed site).

As regards playing at Dewsbury I am in .If we are successful on the field of play people will attend .I also seem to remember MC stating that to get the stadium capacity increased and up to SL standard was achievable. Someone please correct me if I am incorrect in the latter belief.
