But ok, say we get a franchise, and the RFL say on you go, sort that ground out before the new season, who the hell is going to come and do it so quickly ? Dont forget, Challenge Aneka went off our screens a long time ago and I dont think the cheaper Channel 5 version with Melinda Messenger running round B&Q flashing her t*ts off at the manager in return that he gives us a new stand for free will help either.

I'm in total agreement, this could have been done at the club follwing a game, it would have put a few more quid in the coffers as well as managing not to mickey off all the fans who didn't get in.

So is the problem not getting in or the announcement?

And that's when we'll find out if Glover is any different to Richardson. If they are temporary stands, as others have suggested in the past, it shouldn't be a problem having them up for February. If not, then yes, I agree. But I don't get the point of permanent stands if we are to go ahead with Newmarket.

I'm not suggesting our bid will beat Cas, it won't. But I think if this taken into consideration they would have to chuck both out or neither.

my understanding was always that for any new ground/redelveopment to count towards the next franchise period then it had to be finished or at an advanced stage of construction at the time the franchise bids were submitted. Neither this scheme or Cas's fulfil that criteria so dont count towards either of your franchise bids. goes down to other criteria now like youth, onfield and finance IMO.

No problem there then  , just a shame the past is just that the past. this is RL it doesnt matter what has gone before, lets just all move on to the next failure as a group and cover over the cracks.

Me neither, why spend a supposed amount of millions for repairs to a ground for 3 seasons ? Especially considering over those 3 seasons, we will probably make a loss as a club anyway. Its not like the money spent on the repairs will come flooding back into the club and pay for itself. Sky money or no Sky money, we will still struggle to post a profit for the season, and the same applies to a lot of the SL clubs.

I know that's if your building a new stadium, but a redevelopment couldn't be carried out till the off season and could potentially be ready for next season.

Thems the rules as laid down unless you move your club to Wrexham and start again, then you make up your own rules..... oh thats the RFL for you..Oh and Harlequins crowds dont count in franchise appications...thems the rules for them too...make it up as you go along maybe?
