What is the point in slagging a player like Mathers off just for the sake of it. He is clearly a good player. Doesn't matter whether you like him or not and I don't he's still more proven than Tongia. The fact is he started off as a rising star at Leeds, did a stint in Oz then with the Wire (I think) and has played well for Cas this season. He's certainly less to prove than Tongia.

Have to say this Tongia stuff is typical of Wakey fans. Almost to a man no one wanted this NRL reject who's never played a first team game. Now he's played one good game for us he is the hottest property on the planet and cannot be criticised in any way. Bizarre.

What, in that Mathers is clearly better

I honestly think the Tongia may well disappoint a few but I hope I'm wrong.

How can you say they are similar players ? You must have seen a lot more of Tongia than I have, I've only seen Tongia play 4 games, maybe you can see into the future ? If so can I have Saturdays winning Lotto numbers please.

Don't think anyone has seen enough of Tongia to judge him against Mathers. Tongia may have not made it in the NRL but to play at that level as well as being good you are up against loads more competition for places. The NRL are always going to have to cut players more than us and Tongia should not be judged as an NRL reject. Some people will probably think i am selling superleague short but i am not they have a similar amount of teams as us but percentage of quality of players is far greater. With what i have seen he needs a fair go.
