Some quite wise words there Vastman, but I am also an optimist too.

I know we are not the most attractive side but I do feel very positive at the moment about being a Wakefield fan and I think that stems from the positivity that Chris Chester has about this bunch of lads. I think the players respect him and vice versa an they actually enjoy playing for him.

Also with Anthony Tupou it may have been Smith that brought him over but Tupou and Arona were quite influential I believe in bringing over Fifita.

Players of all teams talk to each other and tweet each other all the time and if they are happy with their employers then the likeliehood is that the word would be spread.

As for reducing the squad by 12, I cant really see this as this would not be cost effective by a club such as us on a small budget.

You have really lost me there matey ! A club such as ours on a small budget it makes financial sense to reduce the squad size.

As for loosing players

Hall Scruton Tansey Howarth Walker Yates schulver,Walton that's 8 we all know about
I also hope owen A.Tupou. to make it 10

Then most likely Anakin = 11
Anderson gives you 12

Then I also think one of Arundel,Gibson or Lynn would not be missed. for good measure

Therefore 12 is no big deal really from what I can see.

12 out 7 in plus the emergence of Bachelor, Crowther, Mazive and maybe another couple of our own and it makes perfect sense.

I'd keep Gibson.

What I am meanning is this.

If we are losing players that are still contracted then you have to comevto some arrangement to pay them off. It could be a portion of their salary over a period of time or maybe a lump sum.

Now the odd one of these now and again isnt too bad but if you have a few at one go it becomes a costly exercise.

As I recall due to us extending a lot of deals there arent too many out of contract at the end of the year.

Out of the ones mentioned, only A Tupou is contracted, all the rest have left or are leaving. Anakin won't be on massive money.

I think Arundel comes in for some unfair stick.
He was playing really well and developing an understanding with Johnstone, before he got injured against Sheffield.
Would rather have Arundel in the centre than B.Tupou.
As for Gibson, can't talk about getting shut, as he was unlucky with his injury and worth persevering with.

I'd make Greg brown at Salford our most important signing. Fantastic with fitness and rehab

It won't happen we will be left with Clawson which won't bother some on here as they don't think we have a problem in that area

Re: Five New Signings : Sat Sep 24, 2016 7:48 pm
As erratic as they have been for now I would stick with Arundel and Lyne. They both have their faults but at the same time have goid elements to their play. Like I said before Rome wasnt built in a day. If I was going to clear one off the cap it would be Richie Owen

Losing some of our more average backs could come easier once they are off contract. If we got rid of them now we dont know what were getting and it could leave us light in the backs. Despite how many weve had this year, there were a couple of games where we were light

Id happily now go with what we have in the centres but bring in a quality one for 2018 and just say to Lyne, Arundel, Gibson and Bill Tupou that you are all fighting for one spot and a contract

Maybe Tupou going could clear a lot of space on the cap
