Don't see any reason why he would be looking to move on. BV hasn't been sold yet and the rent was negotiated down with an option to review each year. Moving away from the city would all but kill his initial investment. We would still be paying rent with a lower spectator Base so it just doesn't make any financial sense, particularly with a potential CC final on the offing.
Sorry but can't see it.
This^ In addition I would guess that there may be a review each year but that will probably be just the level of the rent, not whether you are going to get out of the lease. I would think that there would be a penalty for leaving early.
Completely agree with mc no movement from York court no news no nothing it's time to get out well done mc sick of all the ooh it's at delicate position ,too late
Getting out? not for me unless it's to our own stadium somewhere! How is getting out a good thing? whether you move to Dewsbury or Featherstone you will lose half your supporters - me included unless it is short term fix while our own stadium is sorted out. Doesn't seem sense to move out to me.
I feel this is a game of brinkmanship by MC to try and force the issue. The clock is ticking on the ACV and then BV is back on the open market, it's high risk to threaten to move though as is could be playing right into the hands of the other interested parties. That said his tactics worked with the rent last year and he has all the info to hand so you have to believe he knows what he's doing.
The offers been made, the bank have yet to make a decision, well looking on from the outside they have. What is there to gain by threatening a move away? There are other very interested parties involved here so there are other options for the BOI. I would say moving away would make the land easier to sell.
