Re Quins and their recent meeting with the RFL, there was a statement initially from the Q chairman that finance was never discussed. Fair enough. However, if it was never discussed why state ..... "The RFL will help in the office, help in technical support and some financial support too, but that's in the long term, not a big cash pay-out now," explained Hughes. Seems strange if it was never discussed.

Perhaps there was no discussion. The RFL just rolled over and agreed to all the requests that Quins made

the rfl are bent. how is this a level playing field if they will give them money. long or short term this is unfair.... to make it level everyone needs to receive money. or not them. if they cant sustain themselves then they shouldnt be a club. at the end of the day this is a business. the rfl should cut their losses and ditch quins for a cumbrian team

I'm not for ditching the Quins but it does look dire for them, I'm sure I read that the RFL had made £22 million profit, it makes me think that why don't they put some of the money they have back into the game, after all the more clubs that fold the less revenue for the RFL,
now I'm not talking about asking for hand outs just for it to be blown away, it does look like they are also putting in a decent support in some way to help guide them in their goal, it needs to be as you say available to all
we have had Rochdale struggle now Whitehaven, these clubs which help to feed the super league in some way are in much of a need for assistance as the Quins, the further a field that the players have to go to get a chance in rugby league the harder it is, but they are will just let them sink or swim
"We carry no debt and no overdraft and so I want to make it crystal clear that the well publicised discussions with the RFL have not been around financial support of The Club and I can categorically state that we have not asked for, and not received a financial bail of any sort."
And we are the ones under threat of being thrown out of the league in 12 months for not having a stadium?! Granted I am looking from the outside in, but it would seem that there are greater factors than a stadium that should determine the future of a club.
If we do lose our license, the future of our club will be bleak. Do you think the RFL would bail us out if we get into the kind of financial difficulties Quins have experienced over the years?! Will they nick. We are not by any means squeaky clean on the financial front, but we have not been bailed out, renamed, rehomed and renamed again in the last 15 years.
