I don't understand where you get the ripping out bit.
All they have to do is put a barrier in. It doesn't have to be a wall.
And the padded seats at Old Trafford as an example as I've sat in them, are just seats with an extra piece attached to make it more comfy.
I can only tell you Minards understood this as he mentioned it before so I assume Ellis's team understand too.
The point of the stadium criteria is to improve the experience for all stakeholders.
Stakeholders include but not limited to (as its my interpretation)
fans at the stadium - so facilities to be able to sit and stand under cover in numbers with disabled, food outlets, fan zone, toilets facilities etc
Fans at home - allow broadcasting with big screen etc
Media - area to do their work efficiently, seats with power sockets, area to interview, parking for media vans etc
Directors - area to watch game, separated from fan area for safety and convenience, with access to boardroom type area
Sponsors - same principle as directors. Ability to entertain sponsors comfortably with access to similar areas.
That would not be hard to do in our stadium. I'm certain we could include the flats in that too as there is a clause to explain alternative facilities that meet criteria if built before 2015 like the flats.

I had in my head that they would have to be luxury seating perhaps bespoke in some way. If they can be added as some sort of upgrade using the existing as a base then that’s great. I was purely thinking the padding would be somewhat like a gaming chair style.
I have just googled luxury sporting seats and the padded back with armrests look like they could still use the same supports so hopefully this can be done.
As for the other elements I agree it will be light years better for the media, sponsors and directors. I have no doubt it will push us to an improved score.
I fully expect the new owners will have a plan for the seats and other areas to maximise points too.
I guess I just don’t like waste but if the seats are upgradeable then it shouldn’t be a problem.
