As one fo the upset impatient ones, I take great offence to that comment. Baring in mind the club has given the fans less than a month to find half a million to save it from the clueless mismanagement of calamity ted, I hardly consider asking questions before I throw a grand into what potentially could be teds back pocket (we don't know, because it's all got be kept secret) makes me impatient. A month for half a million makes the bungling bafoon look a bit less patient than the rest of us. As for the rest of it, all the timescale stuff, as ever, with this lot, we'll wait until last minute.com and then look to blame someone else.
Not meant to offend at all - sorry - was talking purely about the ground issue. Agree that more info is required re the finances - as it is the HMRC who are really the impatient ones!
I wouldn't argue at all about the communication side of things. I do however believe that substance is more important than style and, without knowing all the details of any potential ground share deals to date, provided the club come up with the goods in the relevant timescale the only harm done will be a few words written on a forum.
TBF to all involved in the NM stuff, until the control of Leeds council took place, we had their support as well. This may well have been the crucial issue which resulted in the scheme going to PI, but there was plenty of advice suggesting that this would not happen. Hey, it has and the club are dealing with it.
I also reckon that you are a bit off the mark in condemning all of the people at the club. It can be very difficult to work under such conditions and it may well be that there are people there willing and able to do more than they can as we stand. For the moment at least they are us, they represent us and they work for us (sort of) - as such we all need to try and make the best of things - tough as that may be!
honest trb i just dont know what to say to you know more, you are defending the indefencible and making yourself look quite silly now. look where we are, dont blame the council or newmarket or methley or leeds or uncle tom cobley. the only people at fault like it or not are our shambolic bod who have run this club into the ground.

If this was the first time we owed alot of money in tax arrears, their stance might be unreasonable, but if were honest, we haven't learned from past mistakes and are clearly consistently showing a blatant disregard for living within our means and paying our dues.

I probably shouldn't do this, but I'm not suggesting anything other than this being a big old mess, but that doesn't mean we should throw baby out with the bathwater - nor do I think that all of our ills are down to bad decisions.
We have a small fan base - ergo low attendances - ergo low income. Clearly we have been running above our means - and some of that has been deliberate as we have attempted to remain competitive in SL - at least until NM comes along - and I still believe that this will happen. As you have stated, answers to many things are required and that will have to happen as clearly people are reluctant to put their money in!
In my previous post I was more referring to the employees of the club - of which there are some very good ones, and they at least deserve a hearing by whoever ends up in control.
Moving forward, I am also mindful that the club will probably look a lot different - in terms of the BoD if nothing else - but there should be a slight warning that change will take time and some patience will be required for any new incumbents.

its been suggested elsewere that wakefields tax problems have been brought forward because of the way the rfl have dealt with wrexham crusaders going into admin.do you know if there is any truth in that ?.
I'm of the opinion that no-one does a bad job on purpose. Yes, mistakes may have been made, but I'm sure the people running the club are hurting just as much as we are. I'm sure that when decisions had to be made, the people in charge did what they considered to be right at the time. They may look back and wish they had done things differently, but I'm sure everyone does at some point.
As for James Elston, the guy is Rugby League through and through, and there is no way he will want this on his CV. He too may have made mistakes, but I 100% believe he will be doing all he can to help the club.

Yes everyone does make mistakes, but when it is the same mistakes over and over again and they are unable to acknowledge that repeating the same mistakes is their fault, then ask the fans for GBP 500k in 3 weeks and suggest if you don't put in you don't care, then it will get peoples backs up

Yeah, and to be honest it got my back up too. I can't afford the £1000, but I still care. But for 2 of us to go to 10 games this season will cost me £400, so I'm not going to worry about my commitment too much. But I still don't believe people go to work to do a bad job on purpose. And I'm sure the majority of our problems started long before Elston came to the club.
