They'll get the credit when it is actually delivered for the community, not before. As I see it, the club are currently not offering any more to the wider local community than they did a decade ago, which pretty much amounts to a rentable function room. Yes, they've done great work to get a redeveloped stand, but that only really benefits the few thousand fans of the club, and not the hundreds of thousands of residents of Wakefield which is what the club said this redevelopment would do.
As a fan, I'm happy - we've got a nice looking (but smaller than planned) stand
As a resident, I'm pee'd off that yet again we have had a bare minimum promised and they've failed to even deliver that

I suggest that you visit the Wakefield trinity community page and read through the raft of initiatives ongoing all season for the various age groups for sporting, health and community engagement. This is inclusive of charitable events. Perhaps you are oblivious to this but this community interaction and engagement is absolute light years ahead of where we were years ago. The evidence is there so just have a look through.
Also, something will be happening with the south east corner and it’s better to keep your powder dry until it’s decided what will happen there.
Regards the new stand and function room. There is the potential for charitable events to be held there amongst other things:
This could include public organisation training - eg
NHS, West Yorkshire police, local council etc.
Local business events
Charitable events
There certainly could be a good benefit for the community.
The new pitch would potentially allow for family fun days and local rugby events to be incorporated.
We have to give the club a chance to use the facilities before we pass comment or judgement on how beneficial it is to the community.
