After we stayed up on the last day at Salford in 2001 (during the CVA) the only way the RFL would allow us to stay in SL was if Ted personally guaranteed, to the tune of £650,000, that we could complete the following season.
That was the time of the meeting when Toppo and the several others wanted to take over the Club - can't remember exact figures but I think it was around £150,000 they had to invest between them.
Hence Ted rejected their approach for the reason I mentioned in my earlier post - they hadn't the money to secure the future of the Club.
