Re: Ground : Mon Aug 15, 2016 9:14 am
I have met MC - several times - and he's as passionate about WT as anyone on here who claims to bleed RW&B; thankfully however, unlike many fans, he tempers his passion for the club with significant doses of common sense and financial prudence, which given it's his money, seems fair enough - it's certainly worked in terms of getting us out of Glover/Elston inspired mire we were in when he took over.

I too am sick to death of the interminable jockeying around NM and BV, and I've advocated a tougher stance with the developer and more openness about their chicanery; but I've done that from a position of absolute ignorance about the internal goings on - I don't believe for a minute that if outing them was the right thing to do, MC wouldn't have done it.

So - frustrating and worrisome as it is, you have to let the guy do his work and trust that his interests are broadly the same as supporters - but accept that by necessity, his methods are different. Ragging him on social media only to backpedal furiously when he fronts you up, is probably not helpful - especially for your own credibility.

There are several parties involved in this mess.
The council, the developer and the bank with O'Hara. All those three will not do the club any favours and will look after their own interests.

In the opposite corner we have the
only people fighting for the club are MC and CB . They may not be everyones cup of tea but they are the only ones that care.

TRB and the rest of the trust try their best but their powers and influence are limited. They have also been shafted and lied to many times throughout all of this.

So like it or not we all have to get behind MC and CB (plus TRB etc) because no one else will stand up for the club.

Re: Ground : Mon Aug 15, 2016 2:48 pm
MC "Regarding the ground, it is definitely not being secured by us for next season That is not to say it won't be. 4 meetings this week the last being on Friday. If I don't know by then, I don't think I ever will! It's mentally exhausting!"

I wonder of one of those meetings will be with the scarlet pimpernel because I am sure that would certainly be mentally exhausting

Still wondering where Sir Rodney Myerscough Walker is in all this. I remember him saying during the hearing with the Secretary of State something to the effect that he was, to a degree, instrumental in the provision of the new Wembley Stadium. This isn't the national arena, Sir Rodney, it's a small community stadium in a small Yorkshire backwater. Have you ceded defeat and afraid to openly admit it? You used to be so proud of your hometown club.

I was told a long time ago when God was a lad to never forget where you come from, obviously some weren't and have forgot.

I saw Sir Rodders car in the club car park last week and no he wasn't doing doughnuts, he's obviously still involved unless of course he was there buying a ticket for the Warrington game.
