I was also told the same as the house owner. No idea how true though.
I have to say that once the stadium is complete and the whole car park is laid it will look ansolutely superb that side of the stadium. On the plans there’s planters and a resurfaced car park. It will take the club to new levels with media/sponsors and business that’s for sure.
It’s a bit of a shame we could only manage a half remodel of the northstand and if we could’ve stretched it to resurface the lower half it would’ve made a dramatic impact to say the least.
I really hope the community improvements also get completed shortly after the stand in the south west corner. The 2 floor gym and community cafe etc as this refurbishment would create an improved training area for the players and also make us more professional on that front too.
Putting my environmental head on I have to say I like the solar panels!! In this climate especially it will be a huge advantage. Usually when the specification process happens for these they dictate the % of usage the panels will cover. If it covers 90% then that would be an enormous saving on the usage over 12 months and I’d anticipate a short payback timescale for return on investment. Smart move. Does anybody know if the solar panels service the whole stadium electricity or if they just service the new stand? If electrical works could be done to service the rest of the stadium this would be excellent?
Does anyone know if the club opted for a battery with the panels for storage outside of sunlight hours? These are costly but with the Super league generally moving to night/evening games (which I hate) the return would be more on this. I appreciate these cost and would be a luxury though.
As said before I can imagine the business wheels are turning in preparation for this side of the business.
I haven’t seen any sort of pricing plan yet for the facilities hire and options for events etc private and corporate. Maybe I’m being keen and this may happen over coming months.
As an aside - Wakefield AFC are in playoffs. If they could secure promotion that could be hugely beneficial for Trinity and themselves. Did I see mention of Wakefield AFC assisting with training facilities potentially? I wonder if the link up can benefit Trinity in any other way other than financially?
