I used to spend many years watching from the western terrace as I grew up. Nearby the half way line is where I stood and watched us through many trials and tribulations. I think it was one of the better viewing areas before the dug outs were put in place there.
Numerous people are suggesting the eastern paddock as a place for away fans yet I can see two reasons against this:-
Firstly it is a designated family area, as a result we'd have to relocate the family area somewhere else.
Secondly I am now a season ticket holder in the east stand. I don't want to go through the whole season in a seat where I feel as though I'm at an away game. I want to hear my home fans and not be concerned with what the away fans may or may not be doing just a few yards in front of me. The east stand is a fixed location.
When you are standing you have scope to move around the ground. When sat you are in your allocated seat and have very little control in avoiding the antics/noise from those nearby.
I think we should give the club courtesy to try this change. We aren't really a four sided ground so we have limited options.
The troubles last year were shameful and really made me ashamed of the fact that some trouble makers can even be associated with our sport.
If this new segregation/North Terrace plan goes well then it will be a safer and happier ground for all.
