Whilst talking about full backs, what does Max Jowitt have to do to get a run out??? Having seen him on many occasions throughout his short career, there is no fear of us been any worse off as a team by giving him a chance and the lad is a natural full back. The only one in the squad in fact!!
Back on topic, any update on when BS will arrive, if he hasn't already?
Remember standing on the wall on the western terrace after the million pound game when the team came round at the end and said to McGillivray that he was my man of the match...he was really chuffed at that and told me so !! Always gave 100% in every game

Good old Dunc!
Always remember that first game in perpignan in 2006 when we played at the rah rah ground, and got skanked by Kirkpatrick and one of the chuckle Bros. (Connelly's) I say one because they were both there and one was supposed to be the video ref(what a joke) on the flight home I was sat next to monty right behind big Dunc, he was sat on his own in that row of seats in the middle with the leg room, despite all the goings on around him with Paul White suffering at the hands of Marchy, Adkins, Whittle, and Tom Saxton, Dunc just sat down opened his book and didn't put the book down till we reached Manchester oblivious to what was going on around him. I remember seeing you and your kid and Bloomers the year after, did you go in 2006?

I've got no doubts that Jowitt is better than what's currently playing but my worry is for him not the team.
He needs to be introduced carefully, in for a couple then back out again, he's not ready to be the regular fullback in a team that's struggling so badly in defence.
Until Max and even Harry Swann are given a chance no one knows if they are up to it or not , after all  who would have thought Ellis and Westwood were good enough when we had them

I'd like to think there will be a press conference soon.
Whilst I'm not looking forward to another spanking on Sunday I am looking forward to Smith being introduced to the crowd. I'll certainly be applauding his welcome to our humble abode.

I agree, but as it stands he cannot get a sniff of any action, even if it was just a game or two. The coaches even decided to bring the leper that is Jarrod Sammut in before giving him a run out. Don't get me wrong, i don't believe he is the next Billy Slater, but having seen him play for a few years now, i could confidently say he would be better (certainly no worse) than what i have witnessed already this season.

If you mean me Chis I think you might be mixing me up with JT and his brother? but yeah we all went with Bloomers the first 2 years 06/07. Once sat with Dunc at our footy presentation night which was held at Wakey, he was really sound but a little bit reserved so not surprised by your tale.

Apologies mate, I always thought you were JT's brother

Back on topic, I'd say the appointment of Smith for a year is a very smart move. As his remit will be to solely focus on staying up this year, he's experienced enough to not give a toss if he puts any players noses out of place, and focus on what he can achieve in the short term. The only bad things I've heard about him are that his interpersonal skills aren't great with some players, and that he can be 'overly technical' - both complaints also levelled at his brother, usually by players he doesn't rate.
I really don't think Wakey could have picked anybody better for the short-term.
