I'm intrigued what people would do with some extra money.

Let's say someone put £500,000 into the club for playing or coaching requirements this year. Not long term. Just to keep us up.

What would you do with it? You can't bring in over seas players without paying off the ones we had so there's a big hole in that money already.
Any suggestions?

The days of getting fairly decent NRL players over never mind mid season are slim to non. Poor currency rates, stricter working visa’s, an extra team in the NRL and not to mention they’ve upped the minimum salary over there. If someone invested £500k, I’d get it for next year to make sure we stay full time in the championship.

So even if you had £500k offered this year, you wouldn't try and stay up?

For me we don't need decent NRL players. A decent Jersey Flag player would do for me. We need speed.

Pretty sure for Visa requirements players need a certain amount of appearances. NSW Cup and QLD cup players will struggle to get over as has been discussed at the forum. Even if we were able to get them over, how much would it cost to release Proctor, Atoni, Taufua and co and get them replaced with unknown quality from the other side of the world.

1. Appoint an actual Director of Rugby for the club

2. Go shopping in the other code for a couple of big units to try and build a platform for our halves to play from

3. Spend whatever is left on a strong advertising campaign

All good ideas but a director of rugby isn't going to win us any games.

I was thinking like people to sign, positions to full, people to pay off.
For £500k you can get some good players.

Good point. Carter did say we couldn't get Fifita through the rules now.
Better buy British then.

Aye he did, which is bonkers but there you go. Recruitment from over here is going to be even tougher. A decent player from the championship isn’t going to leave his job to come join potentially the worst team in SL history. We certainly aren’t going to get any help from our SL rivals either judging by the Hall deal. I can’t help but think we are truely screwed and stuck with what we have. Barring a miracle, we are down as I have literally seen nothing performance wise to contradict that.
