Really good news this.

Let's hope the remaining part of the due diligence checks goes through smoothly and without any problems.

Looking forward to him taking over full control, and we can start looking forward to better things on and off the pitch.

A lot to turn around I feel, and it won't happen overnight.

Yipee

Hope it is not this coach that is doing the recruitment, We need a coach we is going to put together a team with a faster younger spine and bring players in who do not play 2 matches and have 6 or 7 week out injured .The main reason being they are old and injured as in Gales case when they get here.Hood as been terrible this year ,but was given a one year contract half way though the season. Sorry but till I see we are not wasting money on the same kind of signings ,and coaching set up it is just throwing good money down the drain

Think Leigh have shown how it should be done and the first 2 appointments HAVE to be a Director of Rugby and a new Coach who will be happy to build a quality squad to win the Championship next year, whilst our new owner puts in place a management team to tick as many of IMG's boxes as possible. That way we can hit the ground running in 2025 :thumb:

A slight word of caution here, Alf is the real money man and he is certainly a 'character' and known for his unorthodox (but incredibly successful) approach to all things business.

Re: Takeover updates : Fri Jun 09, 2023 9:38 pm
One thing I do agree with is that the first appointment needs to be a strong quality experienced coach and possibly a director of rugby.

I don’t believe Apelgarth needs to be let go. He would however benefit from a tenure as assistant under a strong coach or should take charge of the youth and reserve set up once more where he has proved valuable.

It’s already an uphill battle. If we go another 2 behind then it may be best to prepare for a massively strong 2024 season. A season winning in the championship does have some appeal from me a fan who is used to seeing us struggle along.

Isn't that a similar thing though with MC.

Yorkshire Traction was his father's company, which he worked for, and was then sold on to Stagecoach
