Or the year after, etc.,etc..
The first thing that obviously needs to be resolved is "the elephant in the room"
To those who ask, then the answer is simple. LEARN TO TACKLE.
Defence has been and still is the teams biggest failing.
Ok I'm old school but at a very basic level you cannot run without your legs. Couldn't care less if the ball is off loaded because someone else has to tackle.
Tackle high, get penalised, tackle high get pushed off, get in a wrestling match , waste energy. Tackle correctly and the inertia of the opponent will bring them down. Wrestle and create a "triangle" and it's nigh on impossible to get them down. I used to do a drill to show youngsters how difficult it is. Also if you don't believe me. Look at structures that are built with triangles for strength.
Anyway that's my view.
Shame the game I grew up with and loved, including so many interesting innovations is just for a few clubs. It's become elitist, something that was Unions situation. They have now changed and their inferior game still attracts more interest.
The RFL and SL in particular have practically killed the professional game in this country. Oh it will continue at some level but the numbers will be considerably reduced. The downside is that where are the replacement players going to come from. SL clubs don't want reserves or academies. THEY COST.
No they would rather waste money on an NRL reject whose crocked and wants a final 4 years pension contract .
The game is just losing it IMO.
