Your Sporting Chance's big day : Wed Mar 25, 2015 1:14 pm
Ok folks know I work for Your Sporting Chance but just thought this might be a bit of good news stuff in all the gloom at the mo ...
Mary and Rawlo have today flown to Belfast to give a presentation on the impact of the project to a major conference that looks at using sport as a tool for social change about the work of the project based at Cougar Park, the only one of its type in rugby league. We've been invited to introduce our work with young people in need in the local community as a model of good practice, alongside three other major national Sports Organizations , Sported, Streetgames Uk and the Dame Kelly Holmes foundation, to an audience of 250 representatives from education, community organisations, charities, local authority's and Sport National Governing Bodies. Its not only testament to the great work done by Bren and Buster our two 'Cougar Youth Workers' locally but also to the support given to the project from the Club as well. Even though we run separately from Cougars the support from the Club is an integral part of our success. For anyone who wants to find out more visit http://www.yoursportingchance.org.uk |
