Age , Beauty and a cap : Tue Mar 10, 2009 10:03 pm
Well our Welsh Champion put the cap amongst the pigeons with HIS age cap comments.
But just how much sense does HE make ?.
We as a Rugby Nation are striving we are told to develop and bring to fruition a decade or so of YOUNG promising players.
My lad is one of them . He's been striving at it for 15 yrs and hes only 23 yrs NOW. Apparently hes still learning . Youll be their soon lad your not quite up to scratch yet !!.
Whats stopping him ?. Well hes not drawing his pension for one !.
Or possibly a lot of over age players still milking their beer money out of the game that they should have quietly stopped playing 5-10 yrs ago ?.
Never mind AGE CAP on foreign Internationals to our shores what about clearing out some of our HAS beens and hangers on out of our backyard.
Fozzard springs to mind immediately -forearm joe if they get enough strapping on it .
What chance do the youngsters have if they dont get a game ?.
How can they get a game when the game is full of 30 yrs old something players slowly dying in front of useless crowds who just do not know a good game of competitive rugby when it happens . Watch the kids and the U!6 and U18's, then youd see a game .
We are a sad and sick bunch when wed rather watch an overweight old man paunch his way through a game that a sprightly youngster would run through.
Now at Cougars we are not badly off for youngsters but we could do better and insert a few of our real youngsters in for the odd game .
Most of Super League and our CO-OP Chanpions sides are absolutely brimming withe old farts. So our Welsh Champion should really sort our Domestic mess out first . YES? NO ?.
Clean sensible comments welcome a bit of ribaldery accepted but please no abuse lads. NO correection of my English either. EET is that not bad honest.
