Cougars’ Australian forward Brendon Rawlins who has returned Down Under in order to complete his work permit arrangements for this season could be back in Keighley soon.
He has been in contact with the UK Border office in Sydney and expects to receive his final paper work in the not too distant future.
Barry Eaton, the Cougars’ Head Coach, said: “I’m in regular touch with Brendon by phone and we’re hopeful that all the formalities will be completed very soon.
“We hope that he will be back in England in time to play for us in the opening Co-operative Championship One game against Oldham on March 22”.
Rawlins, who has been a Cougars player for the last two years, won an appeal for RFL support for his application after initially being refused their backing.
