If this new guy is better than Adkins, and he can perform better than him from here till the end of the season then Southampton have just pulled off a good move. SFC will be right, everyone slagging them off will be dead wrong.
Of course, you are right......However, sacking your most successful manager in history (win ratio-wise) after two successive promotions, the last one being very unexpected, and replacing him with a totally unproven manager, whose last job saw him sacked with his side having just 7 points from 13 games, smacks very much of the bizarre.
Its an 'in-house' appointment, similar to the Kean at Blackburn and Pardew at Newcastle moves.....The board are obviously hoping for a Pardew type result, but I sense they will probably be this year's Blackburn - And it will serve them right if that happens.
