Under the game's rules, I appreciate Adebayor, like others in the past, could be deemed as incenting a riot but if that's all it takes for some muppets to start kicking off aggro then surely it's the muppets that need investigating more.

These people are happy to dish out what was just about the worse abuse that I have ever heard an individual get from a set of fans, yet can't take it back when a player slides on his knees in front of them.

I think it has more to do with the 90 metere sprint, I get your point though, It's similiar to when Becks scored a free-kick at Maine Road, the city fans thought it was clever to throw coins at him whilst he was taking corners from then on, Becks just laughed an put the money in his shorts.

Football fans have become so delicate.

I remember when Salford fans were given the Vs from Dave Bradbury(who was playing for Oldham at the time) as he was subbed. There were tears of laughter in The Shed.

It was funny seeing the Tarquins and Jemimas getting wound-up on Saturday.

As for the trouble, apparently a City fan before the game wound-up some Arsenal supporters and one of them thumped him and . As a result, the lad now has a brain injury. From what I have heard, the Arsenal fans didn't cause much trouble. They were very sheepish when they left the stadium. Their mummies probably called them after hearing what had happened and told them to return home ASAP.

Following the general move towards a blame culture in society IMO.

It wasn't their fault they threw missiles and tried to run onto the pitch, it was Adebayor's apparently for having the temerity to celebrate scoring against their team.

Much as it wasn't the fault of the Derby players the other weekend that they couldn't just shake their heads and walk away from Nathan Tyson acting like a c*ck, it must have been Tyson's fault for provoking them.

There's a general shift in society (of which sport is reflective) towards not taking responsibility for your own actions and looking for someone else to blame.

I agree with you to a large extent - but it will be seen as inflamatory, largely because he did run the legnth of the pitch to celebrate.

United get it every year at goodison, they need a underground shelter to go and celebrate goals, because everywhere else, somebody gets mortally offended, and issues some sort of complaint.

Spot on. Paul Ince came back to United with Liverpool and spent 90 minutes getting abused by K Stand. In the end he snapped, turned round, flicked the Vs at everyone and told them all to f**k off. The reaction from K? People were rolling in the aisles they were laughing that much.

The way supporters react these days is embarrassing.

Football fans are idiots. Hundreds of millions of pounds has been spent trying to overcome this fact. Hundreds of lives have been lost because of it. Football supporters have to watch the game in all seater stadiums because of it. Large-scale police operations across the country have to be mounted every week because of it.

Given all these factors, WTF do football players on £150,000 a week expect to happen when they run from one end of the pitch to the other to wind these people up?

If Arsenal fans and Citeh fans taunt each other then the stewards and police should do everything in their power to stop them assaulting each other. That's their job. But it's not their job to get injured because the stupid morons on the field deliberately wind them up.

Adebayor wants hammering for what he did. Every scratch, every injury that the stewards suffered during that incident is down to him.

We can't do any more than we have to stop supporters being idiots. There will probably be many life bans for what the supporters did on Saturday. But we can stop stupid players from deliberately inciting idiot fans.

When the ball hits the net, it's not Torres or Shrek, it's Aguero

On the basis that I can't be arsed trawling the thread, has anyone picked up on the fact that both Bendtner & Van Persie tried their damnedest to cripple Adebayor with their lunges?

The latter obviously receiving a facial wound - hardly career threatening when compared to the injuries Ade would have sustained had he not tried to ride the challenges by the "innocents" involved.

The waist high challenge on Ade on his mazy run into the box by Bendtner was almost treasonable.
