The Spain squad for the Confederations cup looks very, very strong. The midfield is scary.
Five out of the 7 non-La Liga players are from Liverpool and despite having an outstanding season Victor Valdés has been overlooked yet again.

Valdes is terrible, and if he was playing for a lower team he'd be shown up for it, he shouldn't be anywhere near the Spain squad!

It was no surprise Barca were in for Asenjo.

It was no surprise Barca were in for Asenjo.

The only keeper to have conceded less than a goal a game this season. He's had one of his best seasons and to say that on performances alone López deserves a call up more than him his comical.
Nice relaxing summer for Victor and he'll be back fresh for the start of next season looking to help Barça defend their titles.
Maybe Forlan will be sharing the Camp Nou dressing room with him sometime soon.

As it should be. Diego Lopez is better than Valdes and has had an outstanding season.

For all their trophies, I still think Valdes is a flapper. Not as error-prone as he used to be but IMO Del Bosque perfectly justified in leaving him out.

Didn't do much flapping in the Champions League, especially not in semis, ask the Chelsea fans.
