it in 1990, and considering the calibre of the whole competition made 2010 seem entertaining then that's some statement. I am not sure if you are old enough to remember it. The only good performance came in the Semi-Final.
Your beef on jingoism is actually based on your United tendencies, let's be honest. Jingoism in England is no different than the jingoism that affects most major countries at such times. 1996 awoke a nation that was actually pretty apathetic in comparison to the rest of the world when it came to supporting their team in major tournaments.
