The police should have called the game off BEFORE kick off. According to the beeb it went off at 7.15 and a man was stabbed. Emotions were always going to be high after that.

If they had called the game off, the violence would have escalated tenfold because 25,000 people would have been roaming the streets rather than in the relative safety of the seats. It's one thing having thousands of Millwall fans where you can see them all but having them out of sight is far, far worse. If the police had done what you had said, I'm sure we'd have been talking of many more stabbings.

I've seen Millwall fans in action and it's not pretty. There is a big element of West Ham fans who need no encouragement either.

As soon as I saw the draw, having heard of the hatred between the two sets of fans when I was at Upton Park some years ago, I fancied it was all going to be a bit tasty. Whether the police underestimated the level it was going to be on, I don't know.

They'll be roaming the streets now will they not? As a Wigan fan i've been to both grounds on a number of occasions.

Some of the fans who ran on then were pathetic.

Have you just seen SNN showing after the second goal?

That fat, West Ham moron isn't a fan of his team at all. Running past the Millwall players gesturing at them? Pathetic.

Remember being inside the Tudor one Saturday when Millwall came to town. the noise they made when they came running past was unbelievable.
Another time I was waiting at Wigan North Western when their train arrived. They poured off throwing cans of beer at random folk and the copper next to me told me to get on the train 'NOW!!'

Nah the Leeds United Service Crew isn't upto much these days with it being policed so well, more of the action seems to come from The young casual firm I.H.S (Infant Hit Squad) generally the younger fans trying to live upto the Service Crew name but failing rather badly...

Worst pitch ever?

Can see why Rochdale complained about having to play Rotherham on that pitch 24 hours after Don Valley Stadium hosted a U2 concert Saturday. Apparently they picked up loads of "glass and nails" off the surface.
