Eikrem the former Manchester United midfielder? Not seen much of him to be honest, I can't see why that one would be unrealistic, given he's playing in Norway for Molde?
Vagner Love seems a bit out there as a signing for Wigan as he has been linked with some massive clubs over recent seasons. But the last I heard of him was him signing for Flamengo for $10m, so I don't think even he would be out of Wigan's reach. A chance to play in the Premier League might appeal to him. Decent scoring record for all his clubs I think and well worth a punt by Whelan if he's available.
To be fair, I think the Vagner Love rumour was started on facebook/twitter, so looks increasingly unlikely. Eikrem's become a good player under Solskjaer (sp?), so would be a good, realistic signing. IMO, we need a new left wing back and a central midfielder primarily.
Stuart Pearce handled the ball (to try and get a goal or block a goal, can't remember which) but there was only the one time most people will remember. Maradona did it. Thierry Henry did it.
Just one occasion, each of them.
Suarez has just done it for Liverpool, to add to the one he was booked for last month at Southampton, to add to the one he stopped against Ghana in the WC. Someone's listed the Wigan game last season as another time he did it.
Liverpool bitch and moan about him not getting the pens he should, and in the very next game he throws himself to the floor in one of the most embarrassing dives of the season.
And on top of all that there was all the nonsense between him and Evra, and then the nonsense about him not shaking Evra's hand before the game. Then he admitted it, then he made up a different excuse, then he blamed Evra again.
He's clearly an excellent player, which even people who don't like LFC admit. But he is the biggest magnet in the game for stupid offences. Which LFC fans blame on everyone else but Suarez.
Not very often I agree with you but you're bang on here.
What do LFC fans make of the news that they are looking to offload Nuri Sahin back to Real Madrid ASAP?
Would it be fair to say that this will come as a disappointment to the majority, who thought they were getting some sort of wonder player when he first arrived?
Its good that they have the safety net that it was a loan deal and that they weren't suckered into a permanant deal, but considering the lad's previous reputation, the whole move has been a bit of an anti-climax??
As for the player himself, is it a case that he simply wasn't suited to the English game, or is he not quite the player that people made him out to be??
Is it any coincidence that for the second year running, after the joke that was Royston Drenthe, Real Madrid have tried to offload a supposed up and coming star of the future onto a Merseyside club and, both times, both players have been huge flops??

Disappointed after the way we fought to get him. Would have definitley liked to have seen him play more as I've heard he's a fantastic player but as you say its only a loan dealtherefore we wont be losing any money apart from his wages, plus we are cluttered with lots of very good centre mids, Gerrard, Lucas, Allen, Henderson and Shelvey. The first 3 are top class. We also have a good centre mid in our reserbes who has masses amounts of potential Jao Carlos Texiera who we signed from Lisbon.
Rodgers has also said his top priority in the summer is a class number 10. Interesting.

So what numbers are Sturridge and Suarez at present, because, personally, (forgetting the silly squad number system) I see Suarez as a classic number 10 already?
Maybe Rodgers' recent talk of 'enjoying Suarez while we can' is an indication that he might be going onto pastures new?
15 and 7 respectively. Suarez has all the attributes to be a top class number 10, pace, creativity great with his feet inside and outside the box however you risk taking goals out of his game by playing him there. I see Suso more of a number ten.
Can't see Suarez leaving anytime soon. He seens to love rhe club and seems really happy. I wouldnt be suprised too see Christien Eriksen at the club in Janurary as our new number 10.

I'm confused...
What exactly do you see a 'number 10's job has??.....I've always thought of it as a second striker, the skill and guile to go alongside the brawn of the number 9.....Maradona and Pele are the classic example - For Liverpool, for some reason, your 'number 10' has traditionally been your number 7 (Keegan and Dalglish being the obvious examples).
Sheringham was the classic number 10, similarly players like Zola and Bergkamp......I'm just confused as to how you fit that type of player in a side with Suarez AND Sturridge?
I see a number 10 as somebody who plays just behind the striker though floating forward alongside the striker on occaisons. Somebody who creates, and feeds the striker[s] s well as feeding off them and contributing with goals. Take Suso for example a brilliant technician, with lots of ability and intelligence, can pass, dribble and create but doesnt really have that trade about him as being a consistent goalscorer or having a natural eye for goal though he is somebody, who I believe, is capable of chipping in with goals. Buy That is my number 10.
