you've got a point though. the gap between 1st and 3rd this year was embarrassing.

If he's learnt from last time I think they might go some way to catch up, but he'll probably sign 25 strikers and go through a few managers and they'll end up going nowhere.

Barca are in a great position where they can make a tweak or two and push on, Madrid are going to have the big overhaul before they even try and bridge the gap.

As for the rest, I can't see much changing without major investment, and I'm not sure any of them have the funds to do it.

Saw that earlier, it seems the powers that be at clubs like Sevilla, Valencia and Atlético seem to think that they should be able to catch up at the top almost instantly and don't seem prepared to give people time. Vicious circle.

And its only thanks to Monchi's influence that he's been kept on at all. Unfortunately I think Jiminez, as long as he continues with a rather more conservative style of play, will always be living in the shadow of Juande Ramos who won trophies and played attractive football.

bad news for a certain someone on here. big story in this morning's paper that if (when) perez gets in he's going to bring in pellegrini from vila-real as his new manager.

Pellegrini seems to be the front runner and IMO would be an excellent choice - So I'm sure Florentino will find a reason to snub him and choose someone else. Maybe if he asks Arsene Wenger for the 900th time he might say yes.

and don't forget kaka is going to sign this coming week. i was a bit unsure but this week he re-iterated for the 273rd time that he's happy at milan and wants to finish his career there, so it's nailed on.

Pellegrini? That sounds way too sensible for Perez.

Then again, he'll probably have sacked him by December anyway.
