I don't like Luke Wright in the side, would much rather have Bopara, he's a better batsmen and can bowl, we don't even bowl Wright anyway!
For me, Wright is the classic bits and pieces one day player who isn't quite good enough at anything. We seem to be trying too hard to avoid picking specialists in the T20 games. All the bowlers picked bat at least as high as 8 for their counties. Why didn't Tremlett play? He's just as effective a bowler in T20 as in Tests. Yardy is picked as a specialist bowler and would have come in no higher than 9 yesterday, yet he bats at 5 for Sussex and has fifteen First Class hundreds with a top score of 250+. We're wasting him, and his strike rate in T20s is reasonable. We don't need Collingwood AND Wright, especially as both are out of form at present.
I also can't understand the obsession with opening the batting with a wicketkeeper. Prior and Kieswetter were both given that role then dropped. Davies is a talented batsman with a wide range of shots who always scores quickly in the four day games, but he's not a power-hitter capable of pushing the tempo towards ten an over at the beginning of a T20 innings like Watson has been doing for the Aussies. I'd rather see Pietersen or Lumb opening with Bell, and Davies coming in at 6.
