He has, come on 100% from what I've seen of him. Currently leading scorer in Championship with 13 goals in 17 games, that's a hell of a record and deserves recognition. About time England managers started looking down the leagues for some talent, there's plenty there. People give England manager stick when they don't look down the leagues and they get stick when they do, can't win.
What utter ****ing nonsense.
A striker with this record:
Years Team Apps† (Gls)†
2000–2003 Coventry City 72 (14)
2003–2005 Perugia 28 (5)
2004–2005 → Blackburn Rovers (loan) 11 (1)
2005–2006 Charlton Athletic 18 (2)
2006–2008 Wolverhampton Wanderers 55 (12)
2008 → Stoke City (loan) 4 (0)
2008– Cardiff City 93 (36)
shouldn't be anywhere near an England squad.
I thought Capello just had a bad World Cup, but the selection of Bothroyd suggests he's had enough of being England manager and it making these decisions to get fired and walk away with a pay off.
I'm not against deserving players from the Championship being selected for England, but Bothroyd clearly doesn't fit the bill. He's in the Championship because no one in the lower reaches of the PL wanted him. An up and coming young player who will be getting the interest of MU, CFC and Citeh would fit the bill for selection. A 28 year old ex Charlton, Wolves and Coventry City player blatantly doesn't.
