Bellew impressed me last night, thought he would tire but proved hes in the same class as cleverley
degale did well to against a much more experienced fighter, good learning curve after only 12 fights european champ
Cleverly-Bellew was a top scrap - I actually thought Bellew was going to nick it going into the last 3 rounds, but he ran out of gas, and was bravely fighting on gut instinct by the end.
Not sure what it does for Cleverly's reputation - Last night showed he was very beatable and is very, very easy to tag. He definitely has a good chin and can put together good combinations, but too many scraps like last night's will seriously shorten his career.
As for DeGale, I was quite impressed by the heart he showed, rather than any boxing ability - He was in with an obviously wily, experienced, though very limited campaigner, and he came through a couple of big scares....DeGale has to massively improve before he can be taken seriously as a world-level boxer - I heard him talking about Kessler before the fight, which is very, very premature. Kessler would seriously destroy DeGale, it wouldn't be pretty at all.
DeGale needs to get Warren to find him 2 or 3 easy-ish defences of his Euro crown before he even thinks about the Groves re-match....On last night's show, Groves would probably nail him again.
