Specifically, they say, they are numbered to the last day of the season: after which a club from the north with lots of cash would like to put a proposition to him. Thus, Chelsea are already looking towards next season.
There is speculation within the corridors of Cobham that Pep Guardiola and his Barcelona management team are being tentatively lined-up to replace Ancelotti's outfit, and that Emenalo may be promoted to assistant to perform a supervisory role like Grant previously did when Jose Mourinho was boss. For me, if Citeh were going to pull off a coup like that, they'd be heading to Real Madrid and trying to get Mourinho to move to them after taking his 3rd CL. Us going for Guardiola would also be a massive risk. He's done well at Barca, but being successful at Barca for a few seasons doesn't mean he's got the management skills to be able to cope with a job like ours. Without the goodwill that he has at Barca, without the ready made superstars to play their expansive game he could truly crash and burn at another club. |
