TBF our midfield has raped theirs over the two legs. Not allowed them into the game at all, I felt a bit sorry for Gibbs, because there were a lot more senior players who were invisible. England's bestest ever winger did really well in both legs as well.

What would be nicer than Terry getting a booking and then substituted late on to save him for the final and then the ref booking him as he goes off slowly to waste a bit of time. That would be funny as fuuck and we could have a comp who would cry more, Terry or Lord God Jose Mourinho.

Do you reckon they'll be watering the pitch before the game with the prospect of penalties? It'd be a great shame to see Mr Chelsea slip again.

Being drawn against the weakest side and being gifted the opener to effectively kill off the tie, how did you manage to pull these impressive feats off?

Park's opener was very well taken actually so I wouldn't call it, or the 7th minute wonder strike, gifts.

Call Arsenal the weakest side all you want. They were quarter finalists in the Champions league and were pushed aside with relative ease. United only scored three because the team didn't want to exert themselves too much.

FFS 98 times out of 100 the defender would have kept his feet and cleared the ball easily. The cross wasn't worthy of a goal, it came about solely because Gibbs was thinking of the Bambi on Ice show Arsene took him to last weekend.

The same with Ronaldo's free kick. It was a beautifully stuck free kick and a great goal from Ronaldo's perspective, but from a 'keeping point of view Almunia should have pushed it round for a corner without much fuss.

Given that you've been pretty much gifted two goals in the first 11th minutes, it's nonsense to suggest that United were playing the away leg tactically perfect. In the opening minutes Arsenal were by far the better side and were looking good. The goals just ended the game as a contest.

Call Arsenal the weakest side all you want.

I only need to say it once. I know it, you know it and practically everyone on this board knows it.

They were quarter finalists in the Champions league and were pushed aside with relative ease.

No, they were semi finalists in the CL.

I agree that they were pushed aside with ease. As I said earlier, further proof that Wenger wasn't all he was cracked up to be on here and throughout the country.

United only scored three because the team didn't want to exert themselves too much.

And you only scored 1 in the first leg to make the 2nd leg more interesting, I guess?

Just watched the penalty incident.

TBH I'm 50/50 on whether it was a pen or not. He made contact with the ball, but the contact was only slight and in some ways more by luck than judgement. Part of the reason why I'd say it was a penalty was because of the element of man and ball. Fletcher didn't clear the ball with his contact, he merely diverted it slightly. And seeing as he then brought down Fabregas there was a very good reason to give the pen. If he hadn't brought down Fabregas then all it would have taken was a slight readjustment from Fabregas and he'd have been smashing the ball in the net.

What I do disagree with though is the red card. The red card was brought in in those situations to stop players cynically fouling when an opponent was in with a goal scoring challenge. Fletcher's wasn't a cynical challenge, it was a genuine attempt to make a tackle. Giving the pen and a yellow would have been ample punishment. Giving a red for that is ridiculous.
