Is there a particular reason why the Champions League final is on a Saturday this year?

I think it would have been scheduled for the Wednesday after otherwise, and it was brought forward so players could meet up with their national teams ahead of the World Cup.

It's going to be on a Saturday every year from now. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 120518.stm

"We are all of the opinion that this is a great competition which provides a considerable spectacle," said Uefa president Michel Platini about the changes.

"I also hope that playing the Uefa Champions League final on a Saturday will give families, especially children, the chance to see the game."

The CL final is actually later this year that it normally would have been. The CL final was the Wednesday night after the FA Cup final. This year it's a week later.

David James wants to be the new Pompey manager :?

Surely he should not be considered they need a manager with experience seeing as they wont have any money or players?

On the other hand because they dont have the cash maybe getting someone like him on the cheap is the best they can do?

Hoping Blackpool go up today. Got a friend with a business there and it would be great for them financially if they were to go up.

Me too, would finish off a fine season for me. United got promoted. We beat the Scum, they lost out to Chelsea in the PL title race, they got knocked out by Bayern in the CL, Sheff Weds relegated, Pompey and all their problems, Hull getting relegated. Blackpool going up now would be perfect.
