Awfully boring game. Keeps us unbeaten and a good away point. Clean sheet was welcome also. How do City fans feel about their midfield three? I bit static for my liking. Toure and De Jong with Silva just behind and Milner & Johnson outwide would be much better. The highlight of the night was Tevez's a'rse going.

The lack of a really creative midfield player is probably our biggest weakness. We've been playing Yaya in an advanced midfield role which he isnt really suited to, too static as you say. He had a much better game on sunday when playing deeper. If we can find the right player (a Fabreagas or Scholes type) I think we'll end up replacing Barry. But I'm not sure where we'll find such a player.

Milner & Johnson might find their chances to limited if we can eventually keep Balotelli on the pitch in a 4-3-3.

2 points dropped for United. Poor. If you can't beat a team with a midfield 3 of Yaya Toure, De Jong and Barry you've got major problems. Carrick played well last night, as did the full backs before they went off. Shame we played our best football in midfield. Park and Nani were woeful. Couldn't believe Vida was given MOTM. He had very little to do. What he did do he did well granted, but I thought Carrick or maybe Fletch were more deserving.

Biggest let down of the night was Silva totally bottling it on the big occasion. That's probably why he wasn't used in the world cup.

Oh right, so that's the rule is it? Is it not possible to play entertaining football and attain top four?

It might have escaped your attention but winning football games traditionally means you are more likely to finish higher up the table than by drawing them.

The difference beetween 0 and 1 is 1, between 1 and 3 it is 2.

All technical stuff and Im sure it's difficult for some City fans to get their heads around, but if we persist with the shockingly negative stuff we are playing, we are going to turn more potential 3s into 1s than potential 1s into 3s. That mentality will not get us into the Champions League. Playing for draws at home to half decent opposition and hoping to scramble the odd 1-0 away is not going to see us challenging at the top.

With a decent manager and decent tactics, we'd have been around six or seven points better off by now, cemented in the top four with an outside chance of winning it, not hoping that the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton all drop points so that we can maintain our advantage.

I thought Fletcher was excellent and deserved the motm with Carrick not too far behind. We played some good football in the middle but did not get enough support up to Berba often enough to create better chances.

We turned a few 3s into 1 last year when we were trying to be more attacking.. 3-3 against Burnley and Bolton, 2-2 against Fulham, for example. Plus a few 1s into 0s.

Holloway is threatening to quit if he is punished for the squad he put out against Villa last night.

The PL are investigating Blackpool for a fielding a weakened team, but Holloway insists that he was simply using the full depth of his squad.

Yes, he made 10 changes, but the team he put out pushed Villa all the way so I don't think you can truly argue that he put out a weakened team unlike when Mick McCarthy pretty much threw in the towel against Man U the other year.

exactly Cibaman. Im a lot more confident with mancini that we arent going to chuck game away pressing too much. Granted i would like us too attack more no doubt about that but were 4th still in touch with the top 4. Theres just no pleasing some city fans. Yaya Toure was gettting s**t last night i thought he was good tbh he carried the ball well just didnt have the support united got back in numbers just like us so i dont see how they can call us both teams cancelled each other out.

Awful game. Both teams scared to lose rather than going for the win. The way Utd played was probably a nod of respect towards city however they are still far too negative for the home side. Putting a sub on in injury time with the score at 0-0? Seemed pretty strange to me.
