Listening to Mancini after the match it seemed clear that last seasons 3 injury time defeats had a huge effect on the mentalilty of the team. At times tonight they appeared to be almost waiting for the inevitable winner from United. The fact that we kept a clean sheet (when did we last do that against United?) will probably be seen as a step forward.
We're 4 points clear of 5th, 5 points ahead of Spurs & Liverpool. That's not too bad at this stage of the season.
I suspect Joey Barton may be missing a few games for Newcastle.
