Personally, I see a hell of a lot of potential in Evans, he is probably the long term replacement for Ferdinand. But to expect him to step up and replace a player who is vastly more experienced and perform at the same level is ridiculous to say the least.

Evans looks every inch a top centre half and has done really well this season. Of course with age and experience he will improve, he looked a little tired the last coupe of games he has played.

I've noticed a few times in recent weeks when Evens is off the ball he seems to hold his lower back as if he's got trouble in that area. I think SAF was right too keep him after Sunderland offerd £12m+ at the begining of the season btw has anyone seen much of his brother in the reserves? A lad a work thinks he'll be knocking on the door next season.

He has done a cracking job, probably been used a lot more than was intended and played right across the back four. I know his brother is highly rated, and Wes Brown's brother is highly taled of too.

Look at the brain farts Ferdinand had at that age. It was widely questioned whether he could kick on. Conversely Wes Brown was touted as a real star in the making, but I think it is fair to say their playing levels are not equal. Potential, is exactly that.

Ferdinand always looked class. IMO concentration often improves with expereince. I still think the number and frequency of 'brain farts' associated with Ferdinand are nowhere near what people make out. Ferdinand at a young age was calmness, an authority, quick and skillful. I just don't see anything special in Evans.

Just to show I am not being biased - I have seen that Fabio once, and for me it was clear that he has plenty of talent. He looks to be much better than his brother. With Evra looking a tad fragile this season, we may see more of the Brazilian next season.

Did anyone see Evra's and Rooney's reaction last night when the Frenchman realised he was bleeding? It was hilarious. Evra started panicking, I thought he was about to hyper-ventilate, and Rooney looked like he was asking the ref to allow a doctor on to the pitch to perform life-saving surgery.

Not really, but its not out of the question. Much will depend on how Hamburg approach the game. If they sit back and defend their lead we have a chance. Our biggest problem will be to stop them scoring.

Not at all. Three incredibly poor performances on the trot, no midfielder who can tackle (De Jong is ineligible and Kompany hasn't been fit for three months), while our in-form attacking players are injured - SWP and Ireland. Not to mention we have no decent striker available as Bojinov is ineligible and Bellamy is injured. I also forgot to mention that Arnie and Coco - Richards and Dunne - will do their best to make it easy for the Hamburg front-line.

I wouldn't fancy us against a Championship side tonight.

Typical Citeh fans. :)

At least you've got an away goal. Do you think Hughes has lost the dressing room? He seems far too laid back these days.

Aye, said to my mate yesterday I hoped Anderson was given a chance. He did, and he impressed IMO. Had a great game I thought. Even O'Shea played well, the first 70 minutes were the best I've seen him play for a long time.
