Of course they're not going to get it done for free. You being silly now, petal. It would be cheaper than building a new stadium though, no? And yes, the vermin probably would still fill it with the current squad. But the takeover is all about clearing the debt and making funds available, not Abramovich / Mansour funds, but funds all the same.

But Liverpool will need 'Mansour funds' to build a competitive playing squad.

Its not as if they've not had green to spend though over the past 5 years or so.

What is the spends of PL teams since 1992?

£83m loss? Get Ocean Finance on the phone...

Can any United supporter (anyone apart from Scouse Mark) confirm whether or not United received some, or all, of the AON sponsorship money upfront?

TICK TOCK

Not really 3-4 players would do the trick along with a good manager.

Keep an eye on this over the next couple of days for some analysis on the United figures http://andersred.blogspot.com/

There's also some interesting comments from Tampa Bay Bucs fans at the bottom of this article which is linked in teh above blog http://www2.tbo.com/content/2010/aug/25/271832/are-glazer-loan-delinquencies-problematic/

Despite the announced loss by United, get your David Gill & Fergie cliché bingo cards at the ready.
"The debt is not a problem."
"The Glazers have been fantastic owners."
"Never been denied funds for the right player."
etc etc etc

I am sure a post on the Swiss Ramble blog will appear within a week or so (http://swissramble.blogspot.com/).

He writes some excellent articles on football finance - easy to understand and very well written. His work is shamelessley copied by the better newspapers.

There has been, mate. It's been a disgrace. Maybe it comes with the territory of being a high profile club, I don't know. Listen to Alan Green when we are playing. Actually, listen to him when we are not playing and he still manages to throw in plenty of digs. The other day, he called us, with plenty of venom I may add, "that Arabic outfit". He even criticised us for wanting to pay Barca 90m Euro for Pique. It was a rumour started in the Daily Star or Sun that has not been corroborated by any other journalist!!

Some of the nonsense recently written about us, includes, "Micah Richards banned from smiling and laughing during City training sessions".

My favourite is when City were criticised for spending money on transfer fees because hospital wards in Surrey were being closed.

TBH a few people down here have commented on the over-reaction of the press to the De Jong tackle.

Thanks to your accounts being published (reported as a £100m profit on SSN hahahaha. Is that not bias?) teh De Jong story has been pushed off the back pages, so to speak. Although Newcastle are doing their best to stoke up the fire every coupe of days or so.
