I honestly thought gerrard would play because we are obviously better when he is in the team, as for Ferdinand i thought they had enough players to cover him

Well to say 99% of man u fans were calling evans world class last month he seems to of fallen a lot in their estimations now. Ferdinand is a class player but if he was injured as bad as ferguson said thats why i said i wouldnt risk him!

Personally, I see a hell of a lot of potential in Evans, he is probably the long term replacement for Ferdinand. But to expect him to step up and replace a player who is vastly more experienced and perform at the same level is ridiculous to say the least.

I agree with that but what i was saying was if Ferdinand could not make the game Ferguson would have had the confidence to put Evans in like he has this season especially with Vidic with him

Ferguson would have no choice but to play Evans. Neville didn't work out there.

United fans I know were saying similar things about Phil Bardsley and Gibson not so long ago.

Look at the brain farts Ferdinand had at that age. It was widely questioned whether he could kick on. Conversely Wes Brown was touted as a real star in the making, but I think it is fair to say their playing levels are not equal. Potential, is exactly that.
