Surely it is the case that i am entitled to proffer a position and then others should shoot it down.
Murray has being a very good player. he played some top tennis in the tournaments he has reached the finals off.
In those finals he has however failed to deliver maybe he has just being beaten by the better player but he has never lived up to his billing by the British press and is overhyped.
he has never won a set in a final or really pushed his opponent not many tie breaks and this is the key point. if he was losing sets 6 to 4 or 7 to 6. He seems to crumble in the big games in a way he does not in say the semis finals he has played in ( usually when facing similar calibre opponents that he faces in finals)
In two of those finals he did not just lose but lost dramatically against federer in 2008 and djokovic in 2011.
Is it a mental thing or a physical problem ie Stamina ( he also has a persistent knee problem )i do not know. Until he wins however the British press need to stop building him up as some sort of world beater.
Now go back to my original two posts and this is the same point i was making then.
1 The british press need to stop building him up until he actually delivers
and
2 Does he have the mental strength to win a Grand slam.
his recent comments about wanting a break, wanting a normal life and
winning titles is not the most important thing suggests he does not have the same focus, mental toughness of say a Borg or a federer.
Surely as a top sportsman at his age winning should be the priority then he can look foward to a normal life.
