If United want to keep up pace with Chelsea, a defeat is a disaster. If we have designs on finishing above United, a defeat is a disaster. It all points at a 0-0 draw but with the ever increasing possibility that United will nick one as the game nears it's end.

The only thing that makes me slightly confident is that we are long overdue a decent performance and United are long overdue a defeat.

Assuming United lose and Chelsea win it will simply return the teams to the position as at 259pm last Saturday, albeit with less games to play. We're stil in November, I fail to see how defeat would be a disaster purely on that basis alone.

im very confident about tonight i think a 1-0. But we need that early goal the longer the match goes on ill get worried, we know what you red men are like got the big match mentality can score at anytime. We need De jong and Yaya be at top of there game if Kolo is back today id be tempted drop Barry and move Kompany up to Defensive mid and Lescott partner Kolo at back. Barry is too slow and we need to pressure Scholes tonight last 2 matchs we let him dictate and control the game

You would move our best centre-half to midfield? Kompany is a defender. Barry carries the ball more effectively, is composed, picks up his runners and is intelligent with and without the ball. Kompany is inferior to Barry as a midfielder.

I wish I shared your confidence about the result. But then I am the kind of person who goes into the majority of matches willing to take a draw. I think that says far more about me than City.

I expect a draw.

If city were to play an attacking formation they could hand a severe beating to Utd. Hopefully Bobby Manc will continue in his negative ways and we will escape with a 0-0 or maybe even scab a 1-0 win.

I agree. But I think Mancini will try not to lose the game before trying to win it.

I think we've more chance of winning if we go with the negative approach ie strong midfield. If we play an attacking line up United will just pick us off.

United aren't really used to us competing on equal terms with us in midfield. Even when we've beaten them in the last few years they've dominated possession. The more we can keep the ball the better our chances. But that does mean a draw is the most likely result.
