I was there in person too, plenty from us.
Signed from Pompey in January. Did well considering it was his PL debut, needs to cut out the errors though. Generally a solid player and did well last night but should only be on the bench when everybody is fit. The midfield is the big problem, as it was when we went down. Barton will come good with more game time. Smith won't be in the team when Guthrie is fit and rightly so, he's terrible. Nolan now suddenly plays as a striker, nevermind in the hole. If we manage to sign Ben Arfa, Nolan simply has to be dropped for him which would improve us massively. We've been linked with Leroy Fer too and whilst I don't think that one will come off, if we managed to sign them both I believe it would be enough to see us stay up with a little in hand.
Those two would add a lot to the team.
Smith will put a shift in all day long but has no mobility and will always give away needless fouls.
Haven't seen a lot of Perch before but he looks far too clumsy and cumbersome to be a Premier League player, he was useless last night, whether nerves affected his performance who knows.
Williamson had a good game, just hopefully the ball won't end up at his feet too much.
Carroll was absolutely dog turd. Hard job up front on your own at Old Trafford but that header he wasted was begging to be knocked in, and his shooting from range is diabolical - every one rolled gently along the turf into VDS's hands. We need a better midfield though, as last night there was nothing getting created for him.
Colo looked half asleep yet again, but I'm willing to give him a chance, maybe having an experienced old veteran like Campbell along side him will help him focus a bit more.
Jonas done nowt to impress, but as said he has had a long summer at the World Cup and I'd be prepared to give him a bit more time as well.
Enrique was generally solid enough in defence but let the ball get to Berbatov very softly for his goal.
Wayne Routledge must be the worst crosser of a ball I have ever seen, nothing else to say.
